Imaging Services
UC Santa Cruz Student Health Services offers high-quality, high-resolution digital X-ray imaging to assist in diagnosing common skeletal injuries and soft tissue pathology, such as pneumonia, fractures, and dislocations. Images are electronically transmitted to, and interpreted by, board-certified radiologists. X-ray imaging is performed based on orders from a Student Health Services clinician or an off-campus medical provider. Please contact the department with any questions regarding orders from off-campus providers.
If you have an X-ray order from a medical provider, no appointment is needed to access the Radiology Department. Please stop by during our open hours; wait times may vary. For other types of imaging services (e.g., MRI, CT, or ultrasound), patients are referred to an off-campus imaging center in the community.
Accreditation
Radiographers are medical personnel who perform diagnostic imaging examinations and are trained in anatomy, patient positioning, examination techniques, as well as radiation safety and patient protection. Our radiographers are certified by the California Department of Health Services and are committed to providing the highest level of customer service to UCSC’s students.
Our Radiology Department is inspected by the State of California and is accredited by the Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).
How to View Your X-ray Report
You can view your X-ray report in Health e-Messenger by selecting the visits → labs/X-ray → medications/allergies option on the left side of your home screen after you log in (if the menu is hidden, click the three lines in the upper left). Then, click on the Radiology tab. Your most recent report will appear at the top of the list.
