Student Health Advisory Committee | SHAC
You can make a difference in campus health services as a representative to the UC SHIP Executive Oversight Board (EOB), where students join administrators to review UC SHIP benefits and financial performance.
Start with SHAC or student government, which selects one graduate and one undergraduate student to serve on the EOB, where members vote on benefits, make recommendations, and may receive stipends.

Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) Achievements
Some students were skipping necessary healthcare because they couldn’t afford the $25 UC SHIP specialty copay. When the Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) learned about this, they worked to reduce the copay to just $10 for all UC SHIP members. SHAC also successfully eliminated the $10 copay for mental health services
Be part of the team that brings student input to important campus healthcare decisions: the Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC). SHAC advises the UCSC Student Health Center and advocates for UCSC students on health insurance issues across the UC system, including UC SHIP.
